How It All Began
Anita is the artist behind Captured Impressions, a body casting studio based in beautiful Sudbury, Ontario.
What began as a curiosity about sculpting and mold-making gradually grew into a deep passion for preserving the subtle details that tell our stories. Over time, she has devoted countless hours to studying and practicing the art of molding, casting, and sculpting.
She has also shared her craft with families staying at the Maison McCulloch Hospice, creating meaningful pieces for those facing the end of life. Through this work, many families have been deeply touched by the ability to hold on to pieces of time they thought would be gone forever.
Anita is drawn to the intricate, the hand crease shared with a parent, the scar that carries a story, the curve of a pregnant belly and the tiny toes of a newborn. Through casting, these moments can be paused and transformed into sculptures that honor both memory and connection.
Each piece created at Captured Impressions is an exact replica, crafted using premium materials chosen for their strength, longevity and ability to capture the finest detail. Each piece is brought to life through hours of careful work, meticulous attention, and a deep respect for its natural shape and texture, crafted to be held and remembered for years to come.
For Anita, nothing is more meaningful than giving clients back the moments they thought were gone forever.
